  17. <p>    The royal mail can be a royal pain. Just ask Princess Anne.
  18. Two weeks ago, an unidentified man handed the Sun, a London
  19. tabloid, four envelopes addressed to the princess and taken from
  20. her briefcase. The letters were written by Timothy Laurence, 34,
  21. an aide to Anne's mother Elizabeth II. "Dashing Queen's equerry
  22. . . . is `besotted' with Princess Anne and believes she loves
  23. him too," the Sun reported, quoting friends of Laurence, who is
  24. seen above in black top hat. The tabloids spun tales of secret
  25. trysts and phone calls between Laurence and Anne, 38, who is
  26. often apart from her husband of 15 years, Mark Phillips. Oddly,
  27. the Sun has turned the letters over to Scotland Yard without
  28. publishing their contents.
